Week of June 18 2023- LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL

  Important updates for the last week of school: - We will have a pizza party on Thursday, students please bring $5 each by tomorrow -Students wear dress down clothes except for FRIDAY, LAST DAY OF SCHOOL- FULL UNIFORM-REPORT CARD AND AWARDS DAY< 12 NOON DISMISSAL - Students will start to bring books home in their backpacks. Please leave all books and notebooks at home. Do not bring back to school the next day. No After School Program this week. Tuesday June 20, 2023 Students may wear dress down clothes this week -  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No After School Program this week. Wednesday June 21, 2023 Feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga First Day of Summer Thursday June 22, 2023 Gym Classes today Grades K-8 Friday June 23, 2023 Students are to be in full uniform  Last day of School  Awards Day 10:00 AM in Church -- parents invited Distribution of Report Cards and NWEA MAP Parent Reports.   Reminders for this week:  There are no more Title I classes for the year. Please remember to pick up your child at regular dismissal time. Gym Day is Tuesday, June 13 this week On Friday, all students must be in FULL UNIFORM- very important for the Alumni Mass and Graduation Report cards and awards  will be distributed on the last day of school, June 23.

Final exams: Religion Final Exam grades 3-6 is on May 25th (Thursday) Review is ongoing and all materials are provided in Google Classroom, textbook and notebook. Please continue to read the Catholic Q&A as well as Glossary in back of your We Believe textbook as well as practicing with flashcards. Curriculum update for this week: Social Studies grades 2,3 will continue learning about communities around the world this week, as well as how to use maps, globes and compass/ cardinal directions. Social Studies grade 4 will learn about government formation in early days after war for independence. Religion Grade 2: our objective is to   present Jesus as the model for Christian Living, and to learn about the sacraments of Baptism, Penance, and Eucharist. Religion Grade 3:  Ascension: (Mark 16:19-20) 40 days after Easter, Jesus returned to God the Father. We will one day be united in heaven with Jesus and the Father. SADLIER: We Believe - Chapter Religion Grade 4:  Sermon on the Mount - The Beatitudes Religion Grade 5: Review Sacraments at the Service of Communion;  In depth study of St. John Paul II Religion Grade 6:  Precepts of the Church

Tuesday March 28, 2023 -- Tuition Announcement Please check your child's tuition account.  Students will not be able to return after Easter Recess if there is an outstanding balance.  Wednesday March 29, 2023 Ms. Sheila, the ELA coach,  will be working with teachers and students today. We will particularly talk about Examination of Conscience. Materials will be posted in Google Classroom, in addition to materials used in class- textbooks and books on Sacraments.  This week we will present our Black History Month projects inspired with theme  of Black Resistance.   This week in social studies the students in grade 2 and 3 will bring their sheets/boards home to complete Black History Month projects for next week using all the items that we worked on in school together. Grade 4 will be purchasing a trifold board on their own and adding all the materials from classwork  to their project and finalizing it for next week at home. In Religion grades 2-4 we will keep focus on Sacraments, grade 5 will further explore Form and Matter of Sacraments and all grades including 6 will start chapter on Lent.  Please review the important dates listed below and events this week including days when we do not have school, this Wednesday 2/15,  this Friday 2/17 as well as next Monday 2/20. We will continue celebrating Black History Month in social studies grades 2, 3 and 4,  and will continue to work on our projects during class time. Students in fourth grade should purchase a trifold board by the end of this week. Students in second and third grade will be receiving large poster paper in class that I will provide. On Monday, February 13 we will review for the upcoming religious quiz/test that will be occurring on Tuesday (grades 3 and 4) and Wednesday for grade 2 and 5. Topics for review are listed in Google classroom. On Tuesday students may wear red clothes in celebration of Valentine’s Day. On Wednesday this week, February 15 school will be closed all classes all grades for professional development for faculty. On Friday school be closed until Tuesday for the holiday weekend. ...
